Dates: July 31–August 3, 2025
Location: Camrose Exhibition Grounds (about 1.5 hours south of Edmonton)
Whether you’re a die-hard country fan or just festival-curious, Big Valley Jamboree (BVJ) is the summer event for Alberta music lovers. With major headliners, rodeo events, a bustling tradeshow, and four days of camping camaraderie, it’s no surprise this one books up fast. Here’s what to know—and how to get in on the fun.
Lineup & Ticket Highlights
2025 brings some big names to Camrose, including:
- Jason Aldean
- Blake Shelton
- Bailey Zimmerman
- Ashley McBryde
- James Barker Band
- …and dozens more across the Main Stage and Saloon Stage.
Tickets range from general admission (bring your own chair!) to reserved VIP seating and pit access. Thursday’s Kickoff Party is a separate ticket but worth it for early birds.
Camping Tips (Book ASAP!!)
Camping sells out fast—and most packages include your campsite with your ticket. A few things to note:
- No power or hookups—bring generators, water jugs, and tarps for shade.
- Book early for a better location (closer to festival gates = less walking).
- Overflow camping and hotel options in Camrose may still be available.
- Bring cash for showers ($10), earplugs, and extra toilet paper (just trust us).
Pack Smart
- Refillable water bottle
- Camp chairs and sun shelter
- Layers for cool nights
- Portable phone charger
- Bug spray & sunscreen
- Comfortable walking shoes (it’s a BIG site)
- Flashlights or headlamps
- Snacks for kids or picky eaters
Bonus: Pie irons and cooler-friendly meals will make your campsite a hangout hit.
Is BVJ Family-Friendly?
Yes! Kids 10 & under are free with an adult ticket. There’s a mini fairground feel with:
- Vendor booths and food trucks
- A Kids Zone (check for 2025 details closer to the fest)
- Family-friendly performances earlier in the day.
The site is busy, so plan for stroller-friendly routes and shaded breaks.
Plan Your Day
- Early afternoon: Marketplace, acoustic sets, rodeo shows
- Evenings: Main Stage headliners and high energy crowd
- Late night: Dueling pianos, saloon stage, dance parties.
Pro tip: If you’re camping, hang back at your site midday to recharge—then rally for the big shows.
Getting There & Home Again
- Drive time: 1.5 hrs from Edmonton
- Parking: Day lot (must be cleared overnight) or walk in from your campsite
- Stay Monday?: Lots of folks linger for a relaxed pack-up and drive. Makes the Sunday headliner way more enjoyable.
