Named after Dr. Philip Currie, one of Canada's leading Palaeontologists, this museum honours his lifelong commitment to the discovery and study of palaeo-heritage. Museum collections include marine fossils, specimens, casts, murals, articulated re-constructions, core samples and artifacts. They are augmented by additional resources from the collections of the University of Alberta, Royal Tyrrell Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum. Begin with the devastation of the floodplain at pipestone creek bonebed, through to the Cretaceous and Devonian periods, up to today’s oil exploration in Alberta.
